It has been quite the journey so far. Moving from CT to NYC,I have finaly made my jump to continue my professional art career.Settled in Brooklyn and making it through my first semester at the New York Academy of Art, I am now in a big transition stage and loving every minute of it. While still having a studio located in New London CT, I have managed to not only have a studio at school, but another studio in my Brooklyn home. After a small break from the city and fellow community artists, second semster at NYAA will begin January 22nd. From there on out I will continue to develope my subject matter of women, nature, and fashion.
I like to compare women to trees. We are all connected at the root but have our own ways of expanding. A lot of young women go through many obstacles growing up, emotional and physical. This particular young lady has been connected to the ground for some time now. She has grown in so many ways, yet she still seems to be down at her roots. It might be because she is scared. She has never been introduced to what we say "the sky is the limit." Her posture mirrors the roots, yet the colors of her clothes and her surrounding creates the beauty that she portrays outside and inside. It is in our hopes that he
NL Arts Night is a Downtown New London event dedicating the First Friday of every month to ART. With art being such a broad subject, this is a night where New London represents itself as a whole. New London would like to share a night of fun with residents and visitors. Walking distance from one another everyone will not only visit multiple art galleries and open studios, but neighborhood businesses, restaurants and historical sites will be welcoming you. Additions will be added as the weather gets warmer!
